1970s SILVER MODERNIST MEDALLIONS NECKLACE

Silver owl/Greek god reversible coin medallions necklace from the 1970s

This is a very cool looking silver plated medallions necklace which is reversible! On one side it has six medallions/pendants of varying sizes with owls on each and the words MOV and the other side also has the pendants but with images of the Greek god Athena and the words PAZ (meaning 'peace'). Even the clasp has a little pendant with an owl one side and the god the other. It is possibly from the 1970s and looks as if it could be Mexican - it has a long heavy silver tone chain. Looks very modern and will go with all outfits. A really original vintage find.

"Tetradrachms of Athens have long been one of the most popular series amongst collectors of ancient coins. Commonly referred to as 'owls', these coins were struck, with few interruptions, between c.512 B.C. and c.50 B.C. They feature the goddess Athena (the patron deity of Athens) on the obverse and on the reverse, an owl."
