The Guinness Book of World Records, which was first published in 1954 and is still going strong today, loomed large in my childhood as EVERY Christmas my brother would request one and EVERY Christmas he would then spend all day reading out the different records. He often attempted to do the more obscure ones at home (how many peas can you shove in your mouth at once? Anyone?). As I am tall and even towered over other children when very young he tried to convince me (when I was nine) that I must hold the world record for the sister with the longest legs...
The Guinness World Records, known until 2000 as The Guinness Book of Records is essentially a reference book published annually, that contains a collection of world records set by humans and some achievements by animals. The book itself even holds a world record - it is the world's best-selling copyrighted book series of all time.
Anyway as this blog is not a history lesson about the Guinness World Records I will get to the point. My great friend is celebrity nail technician Andrea Fulerton and she is about to take part in a Guinness World Record for the most nails filed and varnished in eight hours. Here is the beautiful girl below. Plus do make sure you head to Superdrug to try her on-trend and groundbreaking range of nail products called Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique.
Next Thursday 10th May Andrea will help the London College of Beauty Therapy (LCBT) break the Guinness World Record. The record attempt will be from 11am-7pm at the college (47 Great Marlborough Street, London) and this is a call out to all of you.
They need 3000 OF YOU TO VOLUNTEER! Please do turn up next Thursday and help them break the world record. The record attempt is also for charity and they will be raising funds for Rays of Sunshine (a wish granting charity for young people with serious or life-threatening illnesses) and The Eve Appeal (which helps the fight against gynaecological cancers).
