I am very taken with this new publication A Front Row Seat by fashion photographer Kirstin Sinclair - it is a beautifully shot book documenting fashion catwalks shows around the world, presentations and parties that the author has attended over many years and the foreword is by model Erin O’Connor. It is basically an access-all-areas for behind the scenes of the fashion industry.
The dress on the cover (above) is clearly Alexander McQueen (the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection at Paris Fashion week) and when it went down the runway the rumours were first set off about Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen, possibly designing the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress. Turned out to be true of course.
The book is available in hardback form for £29.95 from November at www.antiquecollectorsclub.com and accompanies the exhibition Catwalk to Cover: A Front Row Seat at the Fashion & Textile Museum in Bermondsey, London which is on from November 18th 2011 to February 26th 2012. See flyer below.
